10 Night Greek Island Cruise

For those joining us in Italy for the cruise: (Thurs, May 10)
Depart JFK: Overnight Alitalia flight to Rome.

Day 1 (Fri, May 11) CRUISE: Transfer to Ship from airport/hotel. Ship departs at 5pm.

Day 2 (Sat, May 12) SICILY: Sicily 10am-7pm. Sicily was the most important Jewish settlement in southern Italy before 1492. The ship docks in Messina; this ancient city of cobble stone streets & friendly people is the gateway to the sunny island of Sicily. Optional shore excursions available

Day 3 (Sun, May 13) At Sea: A day to enjoy the Lawn Club, schedule your spa appointment & relax by the pool. Just some of the many activities available to you at sea. You are invited to a JCC Group Reception hosted by our travel agent Sue Peterson of Avoya Travel/American Express. Day 4 (Mon, May 14) Athens, Greece: 7am-6pm. Athens houses the Jewish Museum of Greece. Perhaps we can tour it together! Athens is a mustsee on any European tour. The ancient and modern merge in this city in ways that are fascinating. Optional shore excursions available.

Day 5 (Tues, May 15) Ephesus (Kusadasi), Turkey: 7am-6pm. Today, Turkey’s total Jewish population is around 26,000 (the 2nd largest Jewish community in a Muslim country). Of all the ruins in Turkey, the grandest & best restored are in Ephesus. Optional shore excursions available.

Day 6 (Wed, May 16) Rhodes, Greece: 7am- 6pm You can opt to visit the Jewish Museum & synagogue that was built in 1577. See the medieval Old Town & the Agios Nikolas Tower at the harbor entrance. Optional shore excursions available.

Day 7 (Thurs, May 17) Santorini, Greece : 7am- 6pm. Santorini is the southernmost of the Greek Cyclades, and has to be one of the world’s most dramatically beautiful islands. Optional shore excursions available.

Day 8 (Fri, May 18) Mykonos, Greece : 7am- 6pm. As the ship comes close to Mykonos, be sure to watch for (and take pictures of) the beautiful white windmills. Check out the sponges sold all over the island, as they are reported to have healing qualities. Optional shore excursions available.

Day 9 (Sat, May 19) At Sea: Still time for another spa appointment. Check out the Hot Glass Show. Group picture day!

Day 10 (Sun, May 20) Naples/Capri, Italy : 7am-6:30pm. The first Jews settled in Naples at the end of the 1st Century. Naples has some of the best cuisine in all of Italy. Pompeii is a must-see. Optional shore excursions available. Surprise gift awaiting you!

Day 11 (Mon, May 21) Depart for Home: Our fabulous & memorable journey comes to an end. Together we will be transferred to the airport. Our Italy/Cruise travelers will fly home on Delta, our Cruise only travelers will fly home on Alitalia. Looking forward to sharing great memories and fantastic pictures!
